Age Group changes: online drop-in sessions

Ahead of the age group changes coming into effect next April, England Athletics will be hosting a series of online drop-in sessions over the coming months, to allow those within the sport to get any remaining questions answered, or queries clarified. These online sessions are a continuation of that process, and the organisation is encouraging stakeholders to submit their questions in advance where possible, so that full and comprehensive information can be shared during the sessions.

UKCAU Championships return to the England Athletics Senior/U20 Championships

From 2007, the Inter Country Track and Field Championships have been held as part of the England Athletics Senior Championships. This was the case until 2020, when the combination of the pandemic, the Commonwealth Games, and a packed summer season meant that the championships could not be re-instated until July 2024. We had 13 counties involved then and it would be brilliant if we could build on that this year. It has given us a strong foundation to build on and improve upon.

Each month, our team is out and about, up and down the country, visiting clubs in-person as regularly as possible, alongside their ongoing digital communications with clubs. April's activity: visits to clubs including BeFit Today Track Academy, Ilford AC, Enfield and Haringey AC, Houghton Harriers, North Shields Polytechnic AC, Cirencester AC, Halesowen ACC and Doncaster AC. Our team – as always – were able to meet some of the many volunteers who help our clubs to function and thrive. Some of them gave us an explanation of their roles, and an update on their club’s activities.

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Selection Policy announcement

England Athletics and Commonwealth Games England are pleased to announce the Athletics and Para Athletics Selection Policies for the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth Games provides an amazing opportunity for English athletes to compete at the highest level for their country and we are pleased to see the Games return to the UK, following the huge success of Birmingham 2022. Commonwealth Games England has officially informed us that our athlete allocation for the England track and field team at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games will be 58, in addition to our para-athletes, who will follow an invitation process for selection.
