Coaches
Coaches and Leaders inspire, support and develop athletes and runners of all abilities, age groups and backgrounds to fulfil their potential in athletics and running.
England Athletics wants to ensure coaches and leaders are able to offer safe, enjoyable and high quality experiences to athletes and runners across all disciplines and all ability levels. We provide a range of informative and engaging qualifications that are underpinned by high quality developmental opportunities that directly support coaches operating in both track & field off track environments..
Coaching Journey
There are two main journeys available in the athletics qualification structure, one for coaches who wish to work predominantly in the ‘off track’ environment and one for those coaching in the ‘track and field’ area.

Officials
Technical officials play an important role in the development of athletes, coaches and the sport itself. A friendly meet and greet between officials, coaches and athletes at an event can be the catalyst for inspiring the next generation of individuals to progress the sport in all its forms.
Every part of the athletics experience directly links to each other and officials can bring about positive change and experiences that can result in athletes achieving personal bests, medals or just enjoying their events and recommend friends and family to join the athletics community.
Officials Journey
Officials are a vital part of the sport of athletics and running. We explain how you can become involved and progress in the different officiating roles.

Whether you’re beginning your journey as an official, or an existing official, there are qualifications to suit everyone.
