Prizes
The organising committee and the team leaders will agree best male and female athletes for each of the 4 throws. The one key factor is that the athlete must have won their age group. The group will also look at PB, SB and international championship selection standards. For clarity, the male and female event winners for shot put will be judged across both seated and ambulant shot put.
The male and female event winners will receive:
- Neuff rucksack, lanyard and ÂŁ25 voucher
- SiS drink bottle and hydration tablets
- Eleiko goodies
At the end of the competition the organising committee and the team leaders will agree the outstanding male and female athletes from the 8 best male and female event winners. The outstanding male and female winners will receive ÂŁ500 from the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund and more Eleiko goodies.
The final prize is a bronze statue of Daley Thompson. It was donated by the Pickering family. The award is presented to the athlete whom the panel believes has delivered the most significant breakthrough performance relative to their previous best. In achieving this, the athlete will also have demonstrated conduct and sportsmanship that reflects the core values of England Athletics - fun, inspiration, integrity and inclusivity.
