We are pleased to announce that England Athletics has been nominated for the Going Green Award at the upcoming Community Sport and Recreation Awards held in Leeds on 8 March. Having published our Sustainability Strategy at the end of 2022, we have since focused on developing the foundations to help us best implement the strategy. We know we are still in the early stages of delivering our mission, but we are really pleased to have been shortlisted for the award.

It was a busy weekend in Birmingham at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships! Two days of an action-packed schedule saw new British champions crowned, and spots secured on the GB and NI team for the World Indoors in Glasgow later this month. Let’s see how the English athletes got on.

Regional Speed Development Weekend 2024

England Athletics is working with the Birmingham Talent Hub to deliver our first annual Regional Speed Development Weekend which will take place on 23-24 March 2024 at the Alexander Stadium. This 2-day workshop is aimed at development coaches and athletes aged 13+ (pre-Youth Talent Programme) and will be a combination of practical workshops, theoretical classes and opportunities for athletes to take part in YTP training sessions.

England Athletics to host Age Group webinars

Following UK Athletics’ decision to approve proposals made by the Home Countries Athletics Federations (HCAFs) to amend age groups, England Athletics is pleased to confirm the next step in the process to implement these changes. We will be hosting a series of three webinars, focusing on the topics on which we have received feedback from athletes, parents and other stakeholders since the decision was announced.

The final round of the EnergyVision CrossCup in Diest provided the perfect conclusion to the series of European cross country events. On an unseasonably mild day in Belgium, fifteen athletes across both the junior and senior aged groups toed the line flying the flag for England.Â
