England retain overall Edinburgh Cup at mountain running championships

The Scottish Borders’  town of Peebles and the Cademuir Hill provided the wonderful backdrop to this year’s Junior Home International on 10 September, which also incorporated the British and Irish Mountain Running Championships.

England Athletics is saddened to learn of the death of Alan Barlow who played a huge role in the set up and administration of the AAA s charity as both chairman and treasurer. Team selected for mountain running Junior Home International

England Athletics are pleased to announce a Junior England team who will compete against the Home Countries at the British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships. Hosted in turn by each of the participating countries, this year’s event returns to Peebles and closes out a busy mountain running season. This event continues to provide a valuable development opportunity for our young mountain runners. England have an excellent record in the event with a strong squad looking to benefit from the experience of competing against some of the best of their peers.

Report: Snowdon International Mountain Race (incorporating the Senior Home International)

This year was the 48th running of the classic Snowdon mountain race and for the first time it incorporated the Senior Home International (SHI) Mountain Race. Normally the team is made up of 4 men and 4 women, but due to the SHI status this year you had 2 additional U23 runners in each team.

This year for the first time the Senior Home International is being run at the Snowdon Mountain race and will provide a very tough test for all the athletes. We are pleased to announce the selected athletes. As usual we are expecting some fantastic racing in both men’s and women’s events.
