On Saturday evening, we came together to celebrate the amazing volunteers in the London region at our 2026 Regional Volunteer Awards. Held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, the evening was a wonderful celebration of the dedication, commitment and impact our volunteers have across the sport.

On Saturday evening we celebrated the amazing volunteers in the South West at our 2026 Regional Volunteer Awards! The Devon Hotel, Exeter, hosted a great celebration to thank the region's volunteers and recognise their contribution to our sport.

Our 2026 Regional Volunteer Awards began with four ceremonies this weekend, including the turn of the North West on Friday, in Preston, celebrating the outstanding contributions from volunteers across the region.

John Askew: 1957-2026

England Athletics, Bexley AC and the international officiating community are saddened to hear of the passing of John Askew after a long and determined battle with illness. John was the recipient of the England Athletics Official of the Year in 2024, and was heavily involved as an officials' tutor, with his Club Bexley AC, and as a top level official at home and abroad, including being Clerk of the Course at the London Olympics and Paralympics and Assistant Technical Manager at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Coming up in 2026 

We're looking forward to another exciting year in 2026! We'll have our top athletes competing for England at the Commonwealth Games. Leading up to that - come and watch the indoor champs action in Sheffield and other teams representing on the roads, mountains and cross country. We'll also be at the National Running Show and the Marathon Expo. Later this year we welcome the return of our Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards.

National Volunteer Awards 2025

Saturday evening saw England Athletics celebrate the winners of the 2025 National Volunteer Awards. It has been an important feature of England Athletics activity for over a decade and is the the culmination of our volunteer award programme as we recognise our national winners every 12 months after successes have been celebrated at Regional Award evenings.
