Within your local club and community, so many people go above and beyond to provide quality athletics and running experiences. Through the regional volunteer awards, you can recognise individuals, volunteers, officials, coaches, clubs, club leaders, and projects. The closing date for nominations this year is fast approaching - get your online nomination in by Wednesday 26 July!

Have you ever considered nominating someone for our Volunteer Awards? This week we talk to a nominator to show that nominating can make YOU feel good too; so it's a win-win. Even if the person you are nominating doesn't progress through to regional or national rounds, they will still receive an email to tell them that they were nominated for one of our Volunteer Awards, and for many that's plenty of recognition

In 2020, Paul Sanderson, from Telford AC, was the West Midlands Services to Athletics and Running winner at the Regional Volunteer Awards. He went on to receive our national award for his contributions to the sport, and a British Empire Medal in the King's Birthday Honours last week.

The importance of volunteers

It's National Volunteers' Week! Volunteers have paved the way for the journeys of many athletes and helped them achieve and record their greatest performances. Whether a teacher, coach, club member, parent or official, this sport wouldn't exist without their contributions.
