    Commonwealth Games Selection
Commonwealth Games Selection

Selections for the Commonwealth Games England Athletics team were announced this week.

We would like to wish all the selected athletes every success. Full details of the team are available here.

There were 75 places available on the team for non-disability athletes for this Games, this being the allocation for the team after the Commonwealth Games Federation had stipulated the total team size to Commonwealth Games England. The 75 athletes named were selected by the selection panel in accordance with the criteria in the selection policy which is available here (PDF download).

Inevitably there are athletes who have performed very well within the selection period yet have not been selected. As stated in the policy, “With a maximum team size of 75, athletes must realise gaining a selection standard, set out herein, does not guarantee an athlete selection.”
