Regional Coach and Athlete Workshop - Endurance (Birmingham)

Venue: University of Birmingham Sport & Fitness, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2TT

Endurance workshops looking at specific areas for endurance coaches looking to develop their athletes. This workshop will cover Event Specific skills with fault recognition and redress for steeplechase, walks, cross country, roads, middle and long distance.

Northwood Academy of Hurdles coaching series

Venue: Northwood Stadium Indoor Area, Keelings Road, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 6PA

Sessions provide the opportunity for coaches to work in small teams, enabling them to share ideas whilst working with athletes of their selected age group. The emphasis is on the technical development of hurdlers but other aspects of athlete development, e.g. strength and conditioning - will also figure.

Marathon Preparation Evening (Birmingham)

Venue: Birmingham University, B15 2TT

For coaches and athletes working towards the Performance Marathon Group times. Ideal for coaches looking to develop coaching knowledge in the marathon and Good For Age (GFA) marathon runners. The evenings will include key speakers and discussion groups talking through practical experiences of marathon preparation.

Endurance Masterclass with Malcolm Brown (Birmingham)

A very exclusive chance to sit and chat with Malcolm Brown about all things endurance. Malcolm was a speaker at the recent Endurance Conference and has been coach to many international athletes as well as Olympic triathlon medalists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee. Numbers are very limited to allow time for coaches to interact and get the most out off the session with Malcolm.

Youth Development - how to make the most of Athletics 365 (Ilkeston)

From LiRF to CiRF - going from being a Run Leader to coaching your runners (Leicester)

The step from being a leader to becoming a coach can be a challenge. This workshop will give detailed information on the differences between the roles and the steps leaders will take as they take a coaching qualification. The workshop is for people who are currently qualified Run Leaders* who are looking to progress to the Coach in Running Fitness Course.

England Athletics Volunteer Conference

Venue: Birmingham University Great Hall

Our conference, funded by Spirit of 2012 and hosted by Donna Fraser will be an interactive day, with opportunity to hear from leading experts, England Athletics staff and volunteers covering topics from how to involve more volunteers, how to develop and progress within your role, through to how to being more resilient or making change happen locally.

Physical Preparation - mobility, movement and performance (Nottingham)

Venue: Aspley Youth & Community Centre, Melbourne Park, Melbourne Road, Aspley, Nottingham NG8 5HL

Focussing on how athletes can improve mobility, movement and therefore athletic performance, this workshop builds on the content in the England Athletics Movement Skills workshop. This workshop looks at movement assessment and interventions including use of foam rollers, hurdle mobility and coordination drills and strength training progressions.
