An evening with Jenny Meadows

Venue: DW Fitness First Barrow, Cornmill Park, Hindpool Road, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 2GN

To celebrate the launch of our partnership with DW Fitness First - the UK's leading gym and retail company - Olympian Jenny Meadows will be our special guest with opportunities for QA at the DW Sports Fitness - Barrow. The night will have a have a short session on how best to physically prepare as a endurance runner, plus provide you with an opportunity to meet the DW Fitness First team, learn more about the partnership and explore how DW Fitness First can work locally with your club or RunTogether group.

Steeplechase training for beginners and improvers (Kent)

Venue: Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford, Kent TN24 9QX

Two practical sessions - An introduction to the event, hurdling and barrier clearance. Suitable for athletes aged 11+. No previous experience of steeplechase is needed. - Practical sessions to improve hurdling, barrier clearance and water jump skills.Suitable for athletes aged 13+ who have some experience of steeplechase training.

Team Spirit Champions session (Birmingham)

Team Spirit Champions sessions have been developed by England Athletics to help clubs and groups to create greater experiences for volunteers, make it easier for volunteers to carry out their roles, and easier for new people to get involved.

Physical Preparation - mobility, movement and performance (Carshalton)

Venue: David Weir Leisure Centre, Middleton Rd, Carshalton. Surrey SM5 1SL

Focussing on how athletes can improve mobility, movement and therefore athletic performance, this workshop builds on the content in the England Athletics Movement Skills workshop. This workshop looks at movement assessment and interventions including use of foam rollers, hurdle mobility and coordination drills and strength training progressions.

Regional coach and athlete workshop - Jumps (Manchester)

Venue: Gateshead College Academy for Sport, next to Gateshead International Stadium, Neilson Road, Gateshead NE10 0EF

A workshop covering Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump aimed at Coaching Assistant and Athletics Coach level. A theory session on physical preparation and planning followed by a practical session.
