Carol Wright is a technical official based in Cambridgeshire - she's qualified in track, field and photofinish but her real passion is as a Starter. She recently won the East Region Inspiring Official Volunteer Award and we caught up with her at the celebration evening.

England Athletics 2026 indoor championship entry standards published

Year on year we are seeing popularity in the England Athletics grow, which is fantastic, but it has meant that in 2024 and 2025 the 8-hour competition day was exceeded. As part of the licensing stipulations track and field competitions must be carried out within an 8 hour day, and so to ensure all our Indoor Championships adhere to this we have had to amend our Entry Policy, implementing capped numbers for the Indoors. This was already in place for Combined Events Championships. This new policy  has been implemented to ensure the best possible competitive environment for athletes.

Intense battles in Italian mountains for England

England Athletics were represented by 10 athletes at one of Italy’s most iconic international mountain relay events.  There were record entries in the northern Italy town of Morbegno for the 42nd running of the Vanoni Women’s Relay and the 68th edition of Trofeo Vanoni.
