England select strong group of eight to take on Europe’s best Under 23s at Corsa dei Castelli
England Athletics is delighted to announce the eight athletes selected to represent England at the Corsa dei Castelli European under 23 road race on 18 October in Italy.
A regular on the England Athletics road running calendar, the race provides a brilliant opportunity for U23s to take on a high-quality field over the beautiful and quick course. Running from Miramare Castle, the race is flat and fast following the coastline to finish in the Piazza Unità d’Italia in Trieste.
Last year both England teams walked away with silver medals with several of the athletes going on to achieve GB&NI representation at the European Cross Country in Portugal.

"Corsa dei Castelli fits into the England Athletics calendar as a fantastic opportunity for under 23 athletes to gain valuable international experience in a highly competitive atmosphere. We’re always excited to go back to the brilliant races organised by FIDAL in Italy (including Trofeo Opitergium) and no doubt this year will be no different. We have selected a very strong team keen to add to their experience, with several returning to this race for the second time. Many congratulations and best of luck to the athletes, coaches, and their clubs on their England selection.”
