Hall of Fame and Awards Evening returns for 2026

We are pleased to share that the Hall of Fame and Awards Evening is back for 2026, with tickets now on sale.

Launched in 2008, we have now inducted over 125 athletes, coaches and important figures in the history of athletics and running into our prestigious Hall of Fame. After a year away, the Hall of Fame is now back, and will be held in Birmingham on Saturday 21 November.

To be a part of a special celebration of our wonderful sport, you can purchase tickets to join us for the evening dinner and awards presentation which will also feature the winners of the 2026 England Athletics’ National Volunteer Awards.

This year we will be celebrating seven new inductees into the Hall of Fame:

• Sir Mo Farah: A four-time Olympic champion and one of Britain’s greatest-ever distance runners, whose remarkable global double-double established him among athletics’ all-time legends.
• Sonia Lannaman MBE: A Commonwealth champion, Olympic and European medallist who was one of Britain’s leading sprinters of the 1970s and early 1980s. 
• Stephen Miller MBE: A three-time Paralympic champion and six-time Paralympic medallist whose 25-year international career made him one of Britain’s most respected para-athletes.
• Mark Shearman MBE: An award-winning athletics photographer and journalist whose images and reporting helped document the sport for more than six decades, covering 14 Olympic Games and generations of athletes. 
• Mike Holmes: A highly respected coach and lifelong Liverpool Harriers stalwart who guided Olympic and world medallists, including Steve Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, while dedicating decades of service to athlete development. 
• Shirley Strong: An Olympic silver medallist and Commonwealth champion over 100m hurdles, widely regarded as one of Britain’s finest female hurdlers of the 1980s.
• Harry Edward: Britain’s first Black Olympic medallist, Edward won sprint bronze medals at the 1920 Olympic Games and claimed seven AAA titles, establishing himself as one of the finest sprinters of his era.

The event will be held at Hilton Metropole, Pendigo Way, NEC, Birmingham. B40 1PP, from 6pm.

The dress code for the event is suits and evening wear.
