Fantastic performances in Fuerteventura

Last weekend, England Athletics travelled to the Canary Islands for the Fuerteventura International Combined Events Championships. There were a number of fantastic performances by the U18 and U20 Youth Talent Programme team, which included several personal bests and qualifying standards for this year’s European U18 and World U20 championships.

Join the European Coaches' Club in Birmingham this summer

Four years on from the hugely successful 2022 Commonwealth Games, athletics once against returns to the city of Birmingham when the 2026 European Athletics championships take place in August. To celebrate these championships, support coaches in the UK and create a lasting legacy, England Athletics - in partnership with the European Athletics Coaches' Association and the University of Birmingham - will be hosting a European Coaches' Club from Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 August. Open to UK and international coaches, it’s a great opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate the sport.

A relatively new event on the calendar, the Madrid Marcha has become the stage for exceptional racers, attracting athletes from all over the world – including Olympic, World, continental champions and some of the best specialists on the planet! The England team had varying levels of experience, for some, the race being their England debut, others aiming for championship qualification. All the athletes performed fantastically in incredibly hot conditions and learnt a lot from the experience.

Birmingham children to benefit from new Community Athletics Hubs ahead of European Athletics Championships

Personal Best Foundation, the official charity of England Athletics, has announced the launch of its largest initiative to date, introducing four new Community Athletics Hubs across Birmingham to create a city-wide network of free, inclusive athletics provision for children living in some of the city’s most under-served communities, ahead of the 2026 European Athletics Championships being held in Birmingham.

24 athletes, including five debutants represented England at the fourth edition of this competition, taking place in Loughborough.
