February has been a busy month of athletics with the indoor and cross country seasons in full flow. There has been lots of action from England teams across Europe as well as English athletes competing on home soil at the Home Countries Cross Country International, British Indoor Championships and the England Age Group Championships.

Regional Elections

Regional Councillors announced

England Athletics is delighted to confirm the appointment of a host of new Regional Councillors, following an open election process at the start of this year. Applications were sought and encouraged from across the sport, to add new faces, expertise and passion to our existing Regional Council network – a key aspect of our governance structure. With one region - the North West - needing a ballot to decide the successful candidates, the new and returning councillors from the other eight regions are as follows:

In the latest England Athletics podcast, George Mills and Georgia Hunter Bell are among the athletes to give their reaction to title-winning performances at the UK Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Other great stories include 17-year-old Otis Poole winning the men's high jump with a huge personal best clearance of 2.20m, significantly bettering the 2.09m he set to win the England under-20 title in Sheffield earlier this month.

Regional Council ballots

Following the recent election process to fill vacant roles across our network of Regional Councils, there is one region in which a ballot will now be staged to determine the successful candidates. The North West region's vacant roles will be decided upon by affiliated clubs within the region, with this process beginning imminently.
