Be part of the 2026 Let's Lift the Curfew National Showcase Event

As part of Let's Lift the Curfew 2026, England Athletics is hosting a special National Showcase Event, bringing together runners, run leaders, clubs, groups and partners to shine a light on the incredible impact of this national movement.

This flagship event will demonstrate the power of running communities coming together to challenge the barriers that prevent people, particularly women, from feeling safe and confident being active after dark. By gathering in one location, we will create a visible and powerful statement of support for safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone.

Event details:

  • Date: Thursday 29 October 2026
  • Location: The Malt House, Birmingham
  • Time: 6pm – 8pm
  • Distance: 5K

Light up the streets

A group at Greater Peterborough Athletics Network's flagship event for the Let's Lift the Curfew campaign

One of the most powerful sights of Let's Lift the Curfew is seeing runners come together wearing head torches, high-visibility clothing and lights. As the group moves through the city, it creates a visible statement of support that is impossible to ignore.

Those joining us at this event will be required to wear head torches, high-visibility clothing and/or lights. We also encourage participants to bring their brightest running accessories to help us create a memorable showcase of solidarity, community and positive action.

Please also note that photography and videography capturing the spirit of Let's Lift the Curfew will take place on the night.
