England athletes ready to represent at Parliament Hill

Now in it's third time of running, the London International Cross Country is set for 7 February. Part of the UK Cross Challenge at Parliament Hill, the event incorporates a Home Countries International and also includes the 4 areas North, Midland, South and East which gives more athletes on their talent pathway the chance to challenge their peers at a quality event.

Ivor Wiggett: 1943-2026

We are sad to report the death of Ivor Wigget on 27 January. Ivor passed away in hospital after a short illness with cancer. He held many roles in the sport, officiating as a highly respected Starter and Starter’s Assistant, and Endurance official. He was also a Road Race Adjudicator and was RunEvents Chair for the London Region. He was involved with runbritain (which later became RunEvents) from its inception. He was also a Life Member of the National Athletics League.

Do you want to be involved in enabling our sport to reach thousands more people? We understand that many of our fans are not able to attend our England Athletics championships as spectators. But we want supporters to be able to watch our events via high quality live streaming and also enable us to provide post event highlights, reels and replays.

Great conditions, great performances at Hannut CrossCup

The Hannut fixture of the EnergyVision CrossCup took place on 25 January 2026. On a very unseasonal crisp, sunny - albeit chilly - day and a firm course underfoot one had to wonder is this really the Hannut we know and love so much for the rain and mud. Dry underfoot conditions disappointed the mud specialists but were a vast contrast from the wet conditions the previous year!

Top tips for competition providers to prepare for age group changes

From 1 April 2026, the age groups in which young athletes compete will change from U13, U15, U17 and U20, as is currently the case, to U12, U14, U16, U18 and U20. These changes are grounded in a desire to support athletes with their progression through the sport.
