February 2025: Performance round up

February has been a busy month of athletics with the indoor and cross country seasons in full flow. There has been lots of action from England teams across Europe as well as English athletes competing on home soil at the Home Countries Cross Country International, British Indoor Championships and the England Age Group Championships.

A strong England team took on athletes from Sweden, Germany and Norway, held at the Swedish Combined Events championships just outside Stockholm. This was the first time sending a team to this event - our English athletes were promised good competition and this did not disappoint.

Double team titles for England at Armagh International Road Race

The Armagh Internation Road Race celebrated its 33rd year in style with good conditions resulting in 154 men finishing the 5k in under 15 minutes and 41 women running sub 10 minutes in the 10k.  The England teams were also celebrating by claiming the men's and women's team titles.

Impressive performances from England athletes at the 2025 Home Countries International

A misty cold day met the athletes as they took to the start line at Temple Newsam, Leeds for the 2025 Home Countries International. The course ahead of them was a continual rolling set of hills that would be very demanding, although firm underfoot. All the England athletes took the challenge in their stride producing a series of impressive performances.

Impressive performances from England team at Växjö indoor throws

A team of 15 athletes travelled to compete at Växjö Inomhuskast last weekend. This indoor throws event in Sweden provided the rare opportunity for long throws to be contested indoors - an experience that many athletes on the team had never encountered before. The team’s performance was nothing short of impressive, with two indoor British records, four winners, and eight personal bests including new indoor PBs.
