The Sting Backyard Ultra, hosted by Team Caterpillar and licensed through England Athletics – made its debut in July 2025 during one of the hottest weekends on record and has already nearly sold out for its 2026 edition.

This year’s Masters International 10k was staged within the AJ Bell Great North event up in Newcastle with the famous Tyne Bridge as a backdrop. Proposals for changes to the UKA Rules for Competition

Athletics has a set of Rules for Competition and a series of official notification periods for proposed changes to them. The invitation to make proposals for changes to the UKA rules for the UKA Rule Book for 2026/28 went out at the beginning of April 2025 and we remind you that the process is open until 25 June 2025. Guidance on the process and the form for submission of proposals are contained in the Rules of Competition page on the UKA website.

Fierce competition at Masters 5k International

Team England and Wales athletes were bathed in glorious Shrewsbury sunshine at last Saturday’s Shrewsbury Festival of Running.  The event hosted the first Masters International of the season with the Masters 5k. On a closed 5 lap circuit the event hosted 3 age group races and it was a magnificent site to see the waves of red and white vests charging down the course. This event was also the first time that both England and Wales had entered development teams, comprised of athletes who had not previously represented their country.
