May has been a busy month for England teams as they have risen to the challenge of competition on the roads, in the mountains and kickstarted the outdoor track and field season. From England debutants to veterans in the white and red vests, English athletes have excelled this month. Read our round up to discover the highlights!
U18 Mountain Running Cup

England team selected for the International U18 Mountain Running Cup

We are pleased to announce a strong team of 8 athletes that will represent England at the International U18 Mountain Running Cup next month. The picturesque resort of Donovaly in Slovakia will host the 18th edition of the event, where the world’s best young mountain runners will come together to race on a course 5.8km in distance with 513m of elevation gain.

Trofeo Nasego World Cup Mountain Race

The Nasego World Cup Mountain running weekend, held on 24-25 May, featured two races. Saturday saw the Vertical Nasego, which climbs 1000m over a distance of 4.2km, while Sunday was the classic Trofeo Nasego, a 21.5km up and down race. This weekend also incorporated a Six Nations competition, bringing together teams from England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, and host nation Italy.

Mountain running team announced for Trofeo Nasego in Italy

We are pleased to announce the England Athletics team selected to compete in a Six Nations competition against Italy, France, Scotland, Wales and Ireland within the Torfeo Nasego mountain running event in italy. The Nasego World Cup involves two races which makes for a tough weekend, the first race is uphill only over 4.2km and 1000m of ascent, then the following day it’s an up and down race over 21km and 1300+m of ascent. The team will compete in both events.

Podium places for mountain running England Team in Italy

An England Team competed at the prestigious Trofeo Vanoni Italian Mountain Race race. A high level of competition is always expected and this year was no different with teams from; Scotland, Wales, France, Ireland, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia and Mexico all in attendance, as well as the best Italian runners.

September 2024: Performance round up

Now the 2024 track and field season has drawn to a close, let’s look back on all the athletics and running action from September. The Paralympic Games in Paris concluded the 2024 track and field season in style, and England athletes have seen success on the roads and in the mountains and the delayed National Cross Championships kick started the cross country season!

Team announced for Trofeo Vanoni Mountain Relay Race

We are pleased to announce a strong team for the Vanoni mountain relay race taking place on 27 October in Morbegno, Italy. This is the first time England Athletics has sent a team to this prestigious and well established mountain race.
