Kukri sports unveils new Youth Talent Programme ambassadors

England Athletics is pleased to share our partner Kukri Sports’ new Youth Talent Programme Ambassadors for 2024. Each Ambassador has been carefully selected from the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme (YTP), which is the first step on the Talent Pathway designed to meet the needs of identified, English athletes/para-athletes between 16 and 18 years of age.

We are pleased to announce the two registered athletes who were selected at random to represent Team Mind at the 2024 Adidas Manchester Marathon… Congratulations to Stephen Ball from West Cheshire AC and Eleanor Rollett from Dorchester RIOT! The pair won their spots in the Manchester Marathon as part of the #RunAndTalk competition held last month during #RunAndTalk Week.

Judith Temperton: 1957-2023

It is with great sadness that we pass on the news of the death of Judith Temperton at the weekend. Judith was the NOEAA Competition Manager, and also a much loved and respected Level 4 Endurance official. She gave an enormous amount to the sport and especially to the North of England with the well-being of athletes and athletics as her priority. The heartbeat of Northern Athletics, she was a real stalwart and the go-to person regarding anything athletics. She could always be relied upon and always willing to help - full of common sense with a wicked sense of humour.

The English contingent travelled out to a sunny Spain last weekend to compete in the 41st edition of the Cross Italica in Seville. Now part of the World Athletics Cross County Gold Level series, this prestigious race moved to earlier in the calendar this year which proved advantageous for the English athletes who will be battling for GB spots at the upcoming Liverpool British Cross Challenge on the 25 November.

The Lions Running Community, a free affiliated club based in Chorley, have been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.
