Senior/U20 Championships powered by Citroën: preview

The England Athletics Senior and U20 Championships - powered by Citroën - take place at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham from 25 to 27 August. Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Scott Lincoln and Innes Fitzgerald headline a host of top names due to appear as we return to Birmingham for the first championships of the England Athletics summer series. Many of the senior athletes are honing their preparations for the British Athletics Championships at the same venue a week later. Meanwhile, the top juniors will have an eye on international selection as the event doubles as the trial for the European Athletics U20 Championships in Tampere on 7-10 August. Some of the successful British team from the European Athletics Under 23 Championships last week will be in action.

Silver for men's and women's mountain running teams on Snowdon

This year's Snowdon International Mountain Race took place on 19 July and was held in surprisingly good conditions considering the recent heat wave and the weather warnings being issued. Either way it wouldn’t have stopped over 400 runners setting off from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon mountain - an ascent of nearly 1000m - on a 16km out and back route.

CEO blog: July 2025

On behalf of everyone at England Athletics I would like to wish all those competing in this summer’s England Athletics outdoor track and field championship programme the very best of success and enjoyment. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our hard-working volunteer Technical Officials and Event Staff, without whom this event programme would not take place and to whom we are deeply grateful for their commitment, focus, and dedication. I would like to also thank our host venues, particularly Birmingham Alexander Stadium but also partners at the Manchester Athletics Arena.

England team selected for Mountain Running Home International

The 14th Mountain Running Senior Home International 2025 will be incorporated into the British Athletics World Mountain and Trail Running Championships Trial. Since it is also a trial for the Great Britain team, it will include the very best mountain runners from the UK. So we’ve selected strong teams. England have been very successful in the past - having had 12 Individual winners, on top of that the women have won the team title 11 times and the men have won the team title 10 times.
