Bexley Tigers - building confidence, community and a lifelong love of athletics

For more than 20 years, Bexley Tigers has provided young people with a positive introduction to athletics, creating an environment rooted in enjoyment, confidence and long-term development. As the foundation of Bexley AC’s junior pathway, the programme demonstrates how clubs can successfully grow participation while developing future athletes, coaches and volunteers.

Another successful Club Leadership Programme comes to a close

We recently marked another year of the Club Leadership Programme (CLP) coming to a close. Between January and March 2026, 58 volunteers from 51 clubs across England undertook a series of webinars, networking, and active sessions in order to upskill and put their learnings into practice within their club environment.

Finding her place on the track: Katerina's officiating journey

Katerina Sobey came into athletics through her children training at North Devon Athletics Club. A club coach approached her at a local meeting and asked for some help. Because she had previously noticed that nearly all the timekeepers at events she attended were men, she happily volunteered to help the timekeeper team and try to reset the gender balance there. We found out more about her officiating journey.

Club Standards - policy into practice

The new affiliation year began on 1 April, and we would like to thank all clubs who have reaffiliated and met our seven Club Standards - all seven Club Standards are mandatory for clubs to affiliate with England Athletics this year, and 90% of clubs are currently achieving all seven. Since February, our Club Support team have delivered a Club Standards webinar series with the aim of supporting clubs to embed each of the Standards.
