Chichester New:Gen MiniTrack refurb gives club 'dream' solution
The installation of a New:Gen MiniTrack for Chichester Runners & AC has transformed the club's training, giving them a brand-new, safe, and secure space to train.
Chichester Runners & AC wanted to install a track for club use, but didn't have the space to install a full 400m track.
New:Gen facility concepts are an innovative way of enabling clubs to install tracks in the space they have available, without having to install a full traditional track.

England Athletics awarded £5,000 to Chichester Runners & AC as part of our investment in New:Gen facilities.

Chair of Chichester Runners & AC, Jim Garland, said:
"The reaction from club members has been super positive, and having our own secure space in which to set up equipment and run sessions is an absolute dream."
Jim hopes that the club’s experience will inspire others to find similar solutions:
"I hope its unusual configuration will encourage other clubs who might have neither the money nor space for a regular 300m or 400m oval track to think outside the box."

Club Support Manager for the region, Ffion Edgeley, said:
"This track is a great example of a club making the best use of the space they have and proof that traditional is not always the best option. If clubs are considering investing in facilities but don’t have the space for a 400m track, they should consider what could fit into their space and what the needs of the club are. A compact facility is better than no facility!"
Clubs can work with their Club Support Manager (CSM) on their facility needs, who can advise on how to best make use of the space available, as Ffion continues:
"If you’re thinking of building a facility, get in touch with your CSM who will be able to help you access planning guidance and support your club through the process."
