Last week Team GB announced the very first athletes selected for this summer's Paralympic Games. With just over two months to go until the Games begin, we are proud to share that four of the ten athletes named are from England!

The summer season has well and truly started as all eyes have been on the Para Worlds in Kobe and the European Championships in Rome. The British contingent have made some very impressive statements at this early point in the season, with much more excitement still to come over the summer as they battle for spots on the Olympic and Paralympic squads. Making the world stage is without doubt an incredible achievement, and we love to support the English athletes as they run, jump, throw and push against the very best in their field. However, we are also passionate about celebrating those behind the scenes; the clubs, personal coaches, support teams, and ourselves as the membership and development body who have all contributed to their journey to success.

This week our very first England representative para athletics team travelled to Switzerland for the Nottwil Grand Prix including the Daniela Jutzeler Memorial. Taking place over four days, the small team of five athletes had a fantastic competition including new personal bests and seasons bests!

In August, we're hosting our very first para throws introductory session at Lee Valley. There will be a full day event for aspiring seated throws coaches and a taster session in the afternoon for para athletes to give it a go.

With lots of places on international teams up for grabs, May saw fierce competition in every event. Read our round up of English athletes in action throughout May from track and field, the mountains and on the roads.

The English throwing contingent were in action at the Pickering Memorial Throws International on bank holiday Monday held at Loughborough University. Showcasing some of Europe's best pathway athletes, it was an excellent event honouring the Pickering family and throwing as a whole

Over the last week, some of Britain’s best para-athletes have been at the World Championships in Kobe, Japan.

We are pleased to announce that we will be sending two England para teams to the upcoming Nottwil Grand Prix in Switzerland and Paris Grand Prix next month.

After working with the Youth Sport Trust and the event organisers of the 2024 School Games National Finals, we have managed to secure a further 16 Para places at this year’s School Games National Finals.

There has been lots of action indoors and on the roads for our England athletes this month. From our Age Group Indoor Combined Events and Junior Para Championships to the Anglo-Celtic Plate 100km, there are lots of successes to celebrate.
