India Hollingworth has been on the start line for some of the biggest moments in athletics, including Mo Farah’s last track race before he made the switch to marathon, and Usain Bolt’s last 100m final. Having taken up athletics at school, starting as a 1500m runner before moving onto high jump and then triple jump, she also began officiating and loved it.

Saturday evening saw England Athletics celebrate the winners of the 2023 National Volunteer Awards. It has been an important feature of England Athletics activity for over a decade and is the the culmination of our volunteer award programme as we recognise our national winners every 12 months after successes have been celebrated at Regional Award evenings.

We are sad to hear of the death of Peter Lee, our National Volunteer Award winner for Official of the Year in 2010. Peter had officiated at the highest level for many years and was also a long-serving County Officials' Secretary for Hertfordshire and an Officiating Tutor.
