Pat Gallagher: 56 years of service to athletics and counting

Pat was too shy to join an athletics club when she was younger, but was encouraged to do so by her schoolteacher and since then has had a lot of success in the sport. We caught up with her to discuss her journey through the sport, especially as a masters athlete and what coaching means to her.

England team selected for Gent Indoor Meeting

For the first time an England team has been selected to compete at the IFAM Gent Indoor Meeting in Belgium next month. The competition is a popular fixture on the indoor calendar and is part of the World Indoor Tour bronze level. Full of promise – London International Cross Country

Last weekend, Parliament Hill Fields, a classic venue for more than a century, played host to the inaugural London International, a race that featured a Home Countries International as well as a guaranteed place on Great Britain’s World Cross Team in late March in Belgrade. There was also an inter area match, the trials for the World University cross and a set of competitive age group races, all of which took place on the twisting, testing 2km lap which offered great views for spectators.

Entries now open for U17 and U15 indoor combined event and junior para champs

Entries are now open for the England Athletics under 17 and under 15 indoor track and field championships, and the indoor junior para championships (for ambulant athletes aged 11 to 19). Taking place on 9-10 March at the EIS in Sheffield, this will be the final of our three indoor events.
