Last week we were at the home of Blackburn Rovers to celebrate the contributions and achievements of volunteers in the north west region. We caught up with the fantastic Nicola Harvey and Louise McLaren from Park View 4 U RunTogether group, winners of the Contribution to Running Award.

The North West Region celebrated their local England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards for 2023 at the home of Blackburn Rovers.

North East Volunteer Awards evening

The North East Region kicked off the England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards for 2023 with an evening of inspiration and celebration at Newcastle United's home ground on 27 October. Board member Janyce Holmes, Region Chair Janice Kaufman and Councillors Lynn Cooper and Chris Betts joined many of the region's deserving volunteers and their friends to enjoy the presentation evening.

The nominations are in, they've all been discussed by our Region Council Awards panels and the decisions have been made! We're ready to announce our England Athletics Regional Volunteer Award winners at each of the nine events around the country. And you can share in the success by watching all the events via live streaming.

Room to Reward announce support to our Volunteer Award winners

Hospitality charity Room 2 Reward will be supporting the England Athletics Regional Volunteeer Awards this year, with every regional and national winner receiving a hotel break away (of their choice). So by nominating a deserving person for the England Athletics Volunteer Awards, you're also giving them the chance to have a break away in a hotel!

Community Project volunteer award winner provides opportunities for young track and field athletes

The Natasha Lewis Foundation (NLF) works with Team Bath to provide support for not only talented athletes but the club as a whole. This has also enabled the club to work with other community partners such as local schools to arrange teacher training events to help young people get positive first experiences of athletics. And it led to them winning the 2022 Community Project of the Year in the South West.
