As this action-packed summer of athletics and running continues, the imminent Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games give us chance to not just support our elite athletes on the biggest stage, but to recognise and highlight the contributions of the many who have helped them get there, and those who will be inspired by their performances.

England Athletics is pleased to share details of its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on 26 October in Birmingham.

The first championships of the England Athletics summer championships series brings in a new-look three-day timetable format this weekend - running from Friday 19 July to Sunday 21 July. Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium hosts an event which combines the U20, U23 and senior championships, para championships and the returning CAU Inter-Counties Championships.

Continuing our series of interviews with British officials who will be volunteering at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, we got the chance to ask Chris Cohen a few questions about his officiating journey and experiences along the way. This year is a notable one for Chris – not only is he celebrating 50 years of officiating, but 2024 is a first for him – and for our country; his first time as Technical Delegate at an Olympics. The TD is the most senior competition management position and Chris is the first British official to be TD at an Olympics AND a World Championships! His role is to oversee overall competition organisation from appointment to completion of competition reports.

And sixty years after its conception, there will be a celebratory event which will include the opening of the newly refurbished and TrackMark accredited indoor and outdoor tracks.

As the Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) continue to work alongside stakeholders to implement the age-group changes which will come into effect in April 2016, Implementation Project Co-ordinator, Dean Hardman, provides an update on recent progress.

For masters athlete Huma Rahman, she has found her love of running later in life, and grabs every opportunity with both hands to take part and race with friends.
