A misty cold day met the athletes as they took to the start line at Temple Newsam, Leeds for the 2025 Home Countries International. The course ahead of them was a continual rolling set of hills that would be very demanding, although firm underfoot. All the England athletes took the challenge in their stride producing a series of impressive performances.

Competitors and officials alike barely had time to draw breath after the intensity of day one of these championships before an equally frenetic competition got under way. If Saturday was memorable for the superb sprinting on display, not to mention the amazing pole vault that capped eight hours of intense excitement, so Sunday was all about England’s strength in depth in every event.

England Athletics Open U20/U17/U15 Indoor Championships: An electric Saturday

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation in the packed Sheffield Indoor arena. Partly that was because of the large crowd but more as a result that day one of this lightening-charged championship produced a string of scintillating, world class performances. To win a medal at this event is always incredible, but this year it really did need something special to stand on the rostrum.

Rachael’s inspirational journey from sight loss to running victory

Inspirational Newbury AC athlete and paracycling champion Rachael Elliott raced to outright victory in the Windsor Women’s 10k race in September 2024. Rachael, who lost her sight in 2018 and had not raced the distance since 2010, beat around 1000 other sighted runners in a time of 38 minutes 43 seconds.
