We're looking forward to another exciting year in 2026!
We'll have our top athletes competing for England at the Commonwealth Games. Leading up to that - come and watch the indoor champs action in Sheffield and other teams representing on the roads, mountains and cross country. We'll also be at the National Running Show and the Marathon Expo. Later this year we welcome the return of our Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards.
National Running Show
We are heading back to the NEC in Birmingham for the National Running Show 2026! Join us at Stand G60 for interactive Q&As, exclusive giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to chat with our team. Whether you’re curious about local clubs, RunTogether groups, or our individual online running membership RUNEA, we’ll be on hand to answer all your questions. We hope to see you there in the new year!

Indoor championships
Get ready to compete against or cheer on the top athletes across the country at the England Athletics indoor championships! First out the blocks are the Senior and U20 Combined Events, Para and Race Walking Championships, with all three championships taking place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield in early 2026. Tickets are currently available for all three upcoming indoor championships - some are free but need reserving and some are priced competitively.
- 7-8 February: England Age Group Indoor Championships
- 7-8 March: England Age Group Combined Events, Junior Para Championships

Following a successful pilot last year, we will also be hosting the UK Winter Throws Championships in Loughborough on the 28 February and 1 March.

Age Group Changes
As 2026 approaches we look forward to the new age groups coming into effect from April. As a reminder, our sport will be moving from young athletes competing in U13, U15, U17 and U20 age groups to U14, U16, U18 and U20. Here are our top tips to help you prepare ahead of April:

London Marathon Expo
We’re excited to be heading back to the London Marathon Expo in April for the second year running! You’ll find us there with plenty of RUN:EA goodies, fun interactive games, and our supportive team will be ready to chat about how our individual running membership can help you achieve your goals. Whether you’re gearing up for race day, looking for motivation, or simply want to connect with fellow runners, we’ll be there to cheer you on and share in the excitement.

Commonwealth Games
Summer 2026 sees the return of the Commonwealth Games! After four years we can’t wait to support our English athletes as they travel north of the border to compete in Glasgow across six action-packed days. Stay tuned across the coming months as we reveal more exciting information about the Games.

Every two years, we induct a selection of England’s most celebrated coaches, athletes and officials into the England Athletics Hall of Fame. We can’t wait to find out who will be honoured next November! Autumn 2026 will also see our next edition of the Regional and National Volunteer Awards, where we mark the incredible contributions and achievements of volunteers across the country.
