Last week, a formal notice of a General Meeting for 10 June, 2024, was issued to Clubs, with this reminder issued today.

We want to use the power of athletics to inspire young people all over the world to get moving, develop their skills and confidence and build a lifelong love of sports.

Additional Para places added to the School Games National Finals

After working with the Youth Sport Trust and the event organisers of the 2024 School Games National Finals, we have managed to secure a further 16 Para places at this year’s School Games National Finals.

As we continue to converse with stakeholders on the implementation of changes to age groups, England Athletics – alongside the other Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) – is pleased to release the recordings of three webinars which took place earlier this week addressing topics on which we have received feedback since the changes were announced.

Since 2006, the School Games National Finals have provided the perfect opportunity for young athletes to experience a mini-Olympics / Paralympics, spectate other sporting events, stay in fantastic team accommodation and compete as part of a wider team. If you are an U17 athlete (Para U20) and would like to be considered for one of the 2024 School Games National Finals All-Star Teams,please read the selection policy. Age Group changes: regional open forums

As part of the Home Country Athletics Federations’ (HCAF) work to address the level of engagement and drop-off rates among young track and field athletes, England Athletics is pleased to confirm a series of forums at which members and the wider community will be invited to have their say, discuss how the age group changes will be implemented, and to consider the wider issue of retention of athletes in the sport.

England Athletics to host Age Group webinars

Following UK Athletics’ decision to approve proposals made by the Home Countries Athletics Federations (HCAFs) to amend age groups, England Athletics is pleased to confirm the next step in the process to implement these changes. We will be hosting a series of three webinars, focusing on the topics on which we have received feedback from athletes, parents and other stakeholders since the decision was announced.

This week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness week

This week (5-11 February), England Athletics will be marking the annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, an awareness event designed to empower and give a voice to all children and young people in the UK. As an organisation, we are determined to ensure both that athletics and running is utilised to the greatest possible extent to improve the mental health of children and young people, and that those children and young people within our sport are given comprehensive, thorough and exceptional support in this area. All this week we will be sharing the different ways in which we are striving to make a difference.
