It has been a wonderful summer of athletics and running, with some outstanding performances from English athletes on the biggest stage of all – in Paris at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. However, we have also witnessed some fantastic achievements from the emerging young stars in our sport at an international and national level, in events held in the UK and further afield.

Team announced for Trofeo Vanoni Mountain Relay Race

We are pleased to announce a strong team for the Vanoni mountain relay race taking place on 27 October in Morbegno, Italy. This is the first time England Athletics has sent a team to this prestigious and well established mountain race.

Age Group changes: transition plan update

The Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) are today releasing further key pieces of information on how the Age Group changes will be implemented when they come into effect in 2026. This information includes the technical details related to each age group, including the specifications of throwing implements, maximum and recommended race distances on and off the track, and hurdle heights and race distances.

Keith Hall Memorial 10k: 40 years of road races in the local community

2025 will mark the 40th anniversary of road races in Thorney, a village situated in the Cambridgeshire Fens. The races have changed over the years to adapt to new roads, demand in the local running community and volunteer capacity. Volunteer Awards evening 2024: West Midlands

The second Regional Volunteer Awards saw us paying a visit to the West Midlands area last night. It was a great opportunity to celebrate and recognise the hard work, dedication and passion demonstrated by volunteers throughout the West Midlands area. Hannah Cockroft wins her ninth Paralympic Gold! Days 8-10 at the Paralympic Games

This weekend saw the final few days of the Paralympic Games and what a way to end. Hannah Cockroft won her ninth Paralympic Gold, with Didi Okoh winning bronze in a dramatic T63 100m final on the penultimate day. Whilst Isaac Towers and Zac Skinner unfortunately missed out on the podium. The final day saw the men's and women's Paralympic marathon, where we saw David Weir's final race for ParalympicsGB.
