National Coach Mentor wins awards double

England Athletics' National Coach Mentor for Heavy throws - Malcolm Fenton - was recognised as Suffolk Sports Coach of the Year and also received the Hammer Circle's Howard Payne Trophy, for outstanding services to Hammer Throwing recently.

October Run! News from Hackney

October has been a busy month for the Run! project in the London borough of Hackney. Activator Christina Oyebanji provides updates on the Hackney Key 'special event' held at Kings hall leisure centre and GLL track stars ran a primary school cross country competition.

Tunnel 2 Towers Run – remarkable remembrance of 9/11 and 7/7

The Inaugural Tunnel 2 Towers Run (T2T) London 2012 (approx 5 Km) took place on Sunday the 21st October 2012. The event began at Southwark Park in Bermondsey and went from South to North under the River Thames through the Rotherhithe Tunnel to wapping and Finished in London's Docklands in Billingsgate Market in the shadow of Canary Wharfs Towers which mirrors the event held in New York City.

English Cross Country Relays: preview

Clubs have shown their keenness to compete in this year's Saucony English Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield by entering once again in large numbers for this year's event on 3rd November.

Horizontal jumps workshop: 17th November

As part of the North West Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP), the first of the winter's horizontal jumps workshops "Progressive Strength Development" will take place on 17th November. The session will be largely practical based; with presentations, discussion and QA built into the day.
