Run for Ron and help raise vital funds for young athletes

Each year the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund (RPMF) relies heavily on donations from people who raise money at the Virgin London Marathon and other major events.

These generous contributors are called "Ronners", and they are crucial to the survival of the fund.

These Ronners often include relatives and friends of well-known athletes, themselves once recipients of RPMF awards and who are keen to repay the Fund for the help it has given to them over the years.

The RPMF major fundraising event is the Virgin Money London marathon but they regularly add other events too with more fundraising opportunities including the Amba Hotels City of London Mile.

At the 2016 England Athletics Hall of Fame last Saturday, the raffle there raised £1890.00 for the fund, and in addition, the Southern Women's Track & Field League - which has now closed - presented the Fund with a cheque for £4650.
