Deaf Awareness and Basic BSL for Sports Deliverers - spaces available Monday 14 May
A Deaf Awareness and Basic British Sign Language for Sport Deliverers workshop will be taking place in Peterborough on Monday 14 May (7pm to 9.30pm). There are still spaces available.
Attendees will become Deaf Aware and gain an understanding of the needs of deaf people participating in sport.
The workshop will cover:
- Awareness of deafness
- Understanding the barriers facing deaf people in sport
- Develop your own communication skills
- Have an awareness of different communication methods to be able to use them effectively in any coaching session.
- Learn to finger spell and some basic sign language that you will be able to use in your session delivery to support deaf people.
The workshop costs £15 and is delivered bylocal tutor Nicki Sanders of MySign tuition. It will take place at the Regional Fitness and Swimming Centre, Bishops Road, Peterborough, PE1 5BW.
