My involvement in athletics are 100m sprinter and new event long jump. I started at the age of 11 when i competed in a local competition and then quallified to compete at National level held in Blackpool.  From then I’ve competed up and down the country at different events. When I was 15 I received a GB call up to compete in Colorado Springs, USA at the IBSA World Championships (International Blind Sports Federation)

I now don’t compete competitively due to classification but it is in the process - in the mean time I continue to train and support my coach at her events such as disability days, coaching programmes and portable track events.

I feel when I join the Youth Advisory Group I will be able to discuss the barriers I have gone through in sport but still continued to train hard. Particularly as disabled athletics isn’t recognised enough and this will be a great oppturnity to pass on my experience and as athlete being mentally strong when I’ve had setbacks in athletics.
