We have great presenters line up to deliver content that will help you to:

  • enable athletes you coach to maximise their potential
  • understand a teenage athlete’s physical, technical, mental and emotional development
  • be better equipped to develop your athletes by knowing appropriate training and techniques for:
    • physical preparation to maximise performance and minimise injury
    • technical development
    • building endurance
    • supporting a young athlete’s mental and emotional development

The two-day conference costs £30 for both days or £20 for one day. It will focus on how to develop an athlete physically, technically, mentally and emotionally with a specific focus on developing the athlete through the teenage years.

Scott Grace, England Athletics' National Technical Lead for Coaching Resources & Youth Development said, "The coaching that young athletes receive is the foundation on which their whole development in the sport is based. We work to help coaches of young athletes give them the best possible experience not only in terms of enjoyment but also equipping them with the full range of skills and attributes to enable them to achieve their full potential as they grow and develop.

"This weekend sees high level presenters who are able to help our coaches deliver high quality and enjoyable coaching to young athletes that will help them progress and enjoy continuing development."

Day 1 will focus on supporting coaches to apply appropriate coaching at the various stages of progressing; the physical conditioning element required to maximise performance and minimise injury and key consideration for youth endurance athletes.

Day 2 will focus on the mental and emotional development and athlete will go through and how to support this. We will then progress onto the Skill and Technical development of an athlete across a range of athletics events. The second part of the day will be practical examples of athletes demonstrating these events.
