Club Template - Inclusion Policy

England Athletics wants to assist clubs to ensure they are operating in a safe and responsible way in accordance with the good governance code set out by Sport England and in line with relevant legislation by providing ‘Club Standards’.  One of the Club Standards we are recommending is clubs implement an Inclusion Policy.

An Inclusion Policy should outline how the club will create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals, recognising and valuing diversity in its broadest sense.

It should set out the club’s commitment to taking all reasonable steps to remove barriers to participation, including making appropriate adjustments wherever possible to support individuals’ needs.

The policy should also promote positive behaviours, inclusive practices, and a culture of respect, helping to shape attitudes and perceptions in line with the characteristics protected under the Equality Act, while fostering a sense of belonging for everyone involved in the club.
