ECCA National Cross Country championships

It's a busy weekend of action coming up - as well as the the English Cross Country Association National Cross Country championships at Parliament Hill, there's the England Age Group indoor championships in Sheffield and Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow. This year’s cross country event at Parliament Hill is in fact the 16th time that a Championship has been held at the iconic venue since the first in 1950. The traditional uphill start is planned again.

Entries

The cross country holds events for Senior, Junior, U17, U15 and U13 athletes. When entries closed the 10 races of the day had totalled a huge 9472 runners entered, with high entries in all age groups and four new record entries set this year; the Senior Women up by 170 on the previous best, 755 Under 13 Boys - an increase of 107 on last year’s record, 713 Under 15 Boys and a record 280 Junior Women. The biggest event is still the Senior Men’s race where 3428 have entered - only the second time in 13 years that entries have been over 3000.

In the Club results, all accepted entrants may run and all age groups will have 4 to score, apart from the Junior women (3 to score) and the Senior Men (6 to score).
