Regional Council network updates
England Athletics recently welcomed a number of new Regional Councillors to our Regional Council network, details of whom have been updated on our Regional Council web pages.
The election process which culminated in the appointment of the new Councillors also saw a host of former Councillors come to the end of their terms in the role.
England Athletics Chief Executive Officer, Chris Jones, has paid tribute to those departing Councillors, saying:
“The Regional Council network is a vital element of our governance structure, and allows us to provide a genuine, strong link between those participating in and delivering our sport within the regions, and the senior leadership team and Board here at England Athletics."
"In order for this process to work efficiently and effectively though, we need dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable people within those Regional Councillor roles. The departing Regional Councillors have all shown fantastic devotion and commitment to their region and our sport, and on behalf of everyone involved, I would like to sincerely thank them for their contributions."

- Denise Timmis: East Midlands Regional Council 2021-2025
- Jane Pidgeon: Chair of East Midlands Regional Council 2017-2025
- Jemma Arbon: East Midlands Regional Council 2017-2025
- Karl Ponty: East Midlands Regional Council 2021-2025
- Mark Purser: London Regional Council 2017-2025
- Janice Kaufman: Chair of North East Regional Council 2017-2025
- Russell Dickinson-Deane: North East Regional Council 2017-2025
- Lucy Evans: North West Regional Council 2021-2025
- Becky Penty: Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Council 2021-2025
- Bill Eldridge: Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Council 2017-2025
- Janita Maaranen: Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Council 2017-2025
Co-opted members who have departed after their maximum term of four years are:
