England win men’s and women’s masters titles at Bristol 10k

Bathed in glorious sunshine, 238 leading masters athletes from England and Wales lined up on the streets of Bristol to compete in a Home Nations Masters 10km International on Sunday 25 September.

There were some fabulous performances throughout the field with England's V40 athlete Helen Gaunt the first female masters athlete home in a time of 35:39.

The fastest masters man was Wales' V35 athlete Matt Rees in a time of 31:30, finishing 2nd to overall race winner Tom Merson.

Bristol 10k Masters Men England team

England won both the men’s and women’s team races and there were impressive results throughout including 32:42 for V50 Paul Jones, 37:42 for V55 Kate Wright, 51:08 for V75 Caroline Lavis and 58:30 for V80 Michael Conway.

The Great Bristol Run is organised by Great Run and takes place on a flat and scenic route around the historic harbour of Bristol and the city centre with over 15,000 runners taking part.

Bristol 10k Masters Women England team

The England Athletics Masters Programme is a celebration of masters road running and offers England Athletics members over the age of 35 the chance to qualify to represent England as a masters athlete.
