Mental Health Awareness Week: Jools' story - out of the darkness

Ten years after being diagnosed with depression, Jools was with some friends who decided to enter a triathlon for fun! At this time, she hadn't been on medication for my mental health for 18 months and was starting to notice she was having more bad days. She started a couch to 5k programme on her own; she was so overweight and unfit she couldn't face letting anyone see hertry to run.

Saucony English Cross Country Relays: 3 November

The Saucony English Cross Country Relays take place this year on Saturday 3rd November once again at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. This is the 30th year that the event has been held on the compact course, with the venue and gathered club cross country enthusiasts generating a great atmosphere.

Mental Health Awareness Week: Brian’s story - a stroke of luck

Brian first had mental health problems after having a mini-stroke. He had to improve his physical health for his own survival and discovered the treadmill in a local gym, which was the start of his journey into running. He is now the founder of a Running Club and also a Mental Health Champion and a Run Leader Mentor.

ERRA 6-stage, 4-Stage and Young Athletes Road Relays

There was a great day of action at Sutton Park as the Senior Men and Women and Young Athletes contested the autumn road relays titles. With Stockport Harriers claiming the men's title for the first time in the club's history and Aldershot, Farnham District winning the women's title for the third consecutive year the young athletes races saw the titles shared around.

Mara Yamauchi, Dr Charlie Pedlar and Bud Baldaro confirmed for Marathon Development sessions

We are delighted to announce that Britain's second fastest female marathon runner Mara Yamauchi, leading physiologist Dr Charlie Pedlar and one of Britain's best endurance coaches Bud Baldaro will be involved in England Athletics' marathon development activity this winter. Mara, Charlie and Bud will be attending the first marathon development weekend this winter and then Mara and Charlie will have further involvement in the workshops and masterclasses to be held later this winter.

How Clubs and Groups can apply to join the #RunAndTalk Programme

England Athletics Affiliated Clubs and RunTogether groups can apply to be part of the #RunAndTalk programme and appoint Mental Health Champions on their behalf. The application window for October is now open. Once appointed Mental Health Champions are provided with guidance and advice to support them in the role along.

How our Club Support Manager helped Bradford Airedale Athletics Club

England Athletics have a dedicated team of Club Support Managers that can provide support and guidance to affiliated Athletics and Running Clubs. Bradford Airedale Athletics Club recently accessed support through Club Support Manager, Emma Hurst for challenges they were facing around facility developments at Horsfall Stadium in Bradford.
