Road Running Roadshow – Monday 23 September

The roadshow is open to club officers, coaches, leaders, and club members, and offers an opportunity to find out more about new and existing initiatives that aim to support road running and off-track clubs, including Club Run, Masters Competition Opportunities, Champions of the Road Race Series, Race Organisers Workshops and more. It’s also an opportunity for you to share your ideas with us. The session will conclude with a Q&A with England Road Running International, Peter Le Grice, winner of the 2019 Brighton Marathon.

Endurance Coaching / Training Session – Tuesday 24 September

This is an endurance coaching and training session for both coaches and athletes, taking place at Cornwall AC. A session for club members and non-members, coaches and athletes in the surrounding area. An endurance track session to cater for all levels of performance, to show different training sessions and methods and how they can be adapted for all levels and abilities. Athletes should come prepared to take part in the session whatever the weather and will have the opportunity to discuss training with England Athletics staff and coaches.

Location: Carn Brea Leisure Centre, Redruth, TR15 3QS

Time: from 6.30pm

Cost: Free to attend and open to Cornwall AC members and other athletes and coaches in the area

Gun to Tape Event Organisers’ Workshop – Tuesday 24 September

New introductory workshop to help off-track clubs with event organisation. Ideal for new or existing event organisers looking at staging road or multi-terrain races. This introductory workshop aims to provide clubs with both inspiration and information around setting up a new event or revitalising an existing one, including: the needs of the target audience, getting started, volunteers, officials, risk assessment and safety, as well as guidance on where to go to for further information and support. Note: for the experienced event organiser seeking detailed technical information, the runbritain Race Directors course offers more in-depth training. For more information, visit runbritain.com.
