Physical Wellbeing

The physical wellbeing of athletes is of absolute paramount to all National Governing Bodies (NGB’s).  If athletes are physically underdeveloped, they are susceptible to physical problems. Athletes trying to improve their performance in sports can harm themselves by overtraining, adopting eating habits that damage them physically or/and psychologically, and using prohibited substances.

In this section we aim to explore various topic headings over the coming months to offer an insight with regards to the type of obstacles you the “Athlete” may have to overcome.  The type of topics we will look to cover will include overtraining; female athlete triad (FAT); eating disorders/disordered eating.  We will provide educations material and signposting to specialist organisations to assist athletes with safeguarding you the athlete from the potential risks.
