Wheelchair athletes complete their Coaching Assistant course
This week we are celebrating UK Coaching Week and are pleased to present to you the newly qualified Coaching Assistant, Anya Waugh!
As part of an England Athletics scheme, we have been working alongside Talent and Paralympic pathway athletes to support them to complete their Coaching Assistant qualification alongside their current training schedules.
Currently coached by the highly successful, seven-time Paralympic champion Hannah Cockroft OBE, wheelchair athlete Anya sees first-hand how beneficial it can be having a coach or indeed an assistant coach who has been involved in the sport. Wanting to support the younger athletes at her club Kirkby AC, Anya has recently completed her Coaching Assistant course, here’s some top tips from Anya.
