5k and 10k road running representative opportunity for Under 20s: Oderzo, Italy

We are pleased to announce a 5k (women) and 10k (men) road running representative opportunity for Under 20 athletes at the Trofeo Opitergium in Oderzo, Italy, on 16 September 2023.

England Athletics values the importance of competitive road running opportunities for developing athletes looking to gain international experience.

A minimum scoring team of up to three men and women will be selected. A further male and female athlete may be selected as well as two non-travelling reserves for each team. The first three runners in each category will score for the team with the men’s and women’s team scores being added for an overall team score.

Eligibility

To be considered for selection, athletes must satisfy the following:

• Be eligible to compete for England (i.e. full British passport holder)
• Have achieved a relevant England Athletics standard within the qualification period (the Selection Panel will select athletes based on their current form in races (including road and track) in the 4 months prior to the selection meeting. Extra consideration will be given to performances at the selection distance and surface.
• You must be aged 18 or 19 on 31 December 2023 to be eligible for selection. Age categores are based on World Athletics Rules.
• This event takes place during term time. Selected athletes will need to be available to travel as a team on Friday 15 September returning on Sunday 17 September

Standards

3000m / 3k: 9.50 (women),

5000m / 5k: 17.30 (women), 15.10 (men)

10,000m / 10k: 32,50 (men)
