Top young athletes set to compete at the Sportshall UK Final

Budding young athletes from across the UK are set to compete in the Sportshall Athletics UK Finals at Manchester's Regional Indoor Athletics Arena on the weekend of 14th and 15th April. The most promising young athletes will battle it out to be crowned UK Champions at the flagship athletics development event of the year.

England Athletics Masters 10k team announced

Following qualification through either the Chichester 10k back in February or selection through rankings owing to the cancellations of both the Trafford and Lincoln 10k qualifiers due to severe weather last month, England Athletics are pleased to announce the full Masters team for the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k.

Research study into reaction times - subjects wanted

Bangor University, supported by England Athletics, are looking for athletes in the North West of England who are aged 18-35 with 8 years' experience of sprinting to take part in a research study into reaction times. The research is into reaction times and deaf athletes, but as part of it they need to also test hearing athletes.

Safe Athletics Track and Field Safety Guide for Competition now online

Safe Athletics is a new initiative developed by UK Athletics and Home Country Athletics Federations that seeks to raise standards of safety within athletics via best practice guidance and information made freely available to anyone involved in its delivery. The Safe Athletics resources will provide the best opportunity to avoid accidents and injuries and help ensure the safety of everyone.

The Commonwealth Games have begun!

Gold Coast 2018 organisers held a spectacular opening ceremony welcoming the 71 nations and territories and 4,500 athletes from across the Commonwealth. The Opening Ceremony, which focused on celebrating the history of the Gold Coast, featured many of Team England's athletes who were the third nation to be paraded through the Carrara Stadium, the athletics competition venue.

New Look National Guide Runner Database - Find a Guide

England Athletics and British Blind Sport have today re-launched 'Find a Guide', a national guide runner database to support more people with a visual impairment to run. The database is an online tool for anyone aged 18 years or older with a visual impairment to find a guide runner, whether they have never run before, are a gym-goer looking to take their running outdoors or a seasoned runner looking for a new guide.
