Hillingdon AC encourage 100 volunteers to spend a day carrying out track improvements

England Athletics have a dedicated team of Club Support Managers that can provide support and guidance to affiliated Athletics and Running Clubs. Hillingdon AC and Fusion-Lifestyle supported by Club Support Manager John Harris recently worked in partnership to carry out pre-season improvements to the track and surrounds, as well as encouraging more people to volunteer at the club. John suggested an AthleticsForce day to the club and track operator, and worked closely with them, resulting in over 100 volunteers turning up on Easter Saturday to help out. Donna Fraser was also involved on the day.

Hillingdon AC Chair Dave Smith commented, "I felt immense pride seeing so many adults and young people doing their bit on the AthleticsForce day. I have no doubt that as a direct result of the day we will have more club members volunteering in the forthcoming season. Partnership events such as this are necessary not only to ensure that the facility is fit for the coming season but just as importantly to build good reciprocal relationships between clubs and track operators."

Fusion Lifestyle Ops Manager James Underhill added, " Using an initiative such as AthleticsForce is incredibly beneficial. Not only does it provide the foundation for a stronger relationship between the operator and the customers it provides the facilities for, but also enables the operator to have a clean, organised and tidy facility."
