English Cross Country Relays back at Berry Hill

The English Cross Country Relays, sponsored by Saucony, took place at Berry Hill Park, in Mansfield, on Saturday 6 November after a year missed due to the pandemic.

For those involved, it was a joy to see the return of the event which, until 2020, has had the same venue as its backdrop each year since 1989.

With 1,000 team entries received, the relays saw a thrilling and fierce competition with great support from Mansfield District Council and Mansfield Harriers.

Awards were spread across athletes from all over England with full results and a report available via www.englishcrosscountry.co.uk

“It was great to be in Mansfield’s Berry Hill Park for the return of English Cross Country Relays on Saturday, after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic,” said Nichola Skedgel, Competition and Partnerships and Innovation Manager at England Athletics.

“With such great camaraderie on display with the teams cheering each other on, brilliant organisation behind the scenes, and a really competitive field of runners, it remains a hugely popular and prestigious event in the calendar.

“Berry Hill Park, which provides the perfect picturesque backdrop, had the feel of a winter festival with the club tent area and the day was action packed. Huge congratulations to all those involved in staging the event, the runners who entered, the brilliant volunteer officials, and the spectators for showing their support.”
